‘Change’ is a natural process. It’s a universal phenomenon. Every human endeavor is to bring about some change. And positive change is always welcome. But overnight change is always suspicious. Here, what’s at issue is: What kind of change?
The Maoists had labeled the US and India as imperialist and expansionist respectively. They had vigorously condemned these nations in other respects, too. But as soon as they won the historic CA election, their standpoint changed overnight. They stopped calling them by such labels. They said they would be happy to get assistance from these nations! Isn’t this amazing? What kind of change is this? Don’t they have any integrity?
I wonder how come these so-called revolutionists, who still are ‘terrorists’ in the eyes of the US government, left out some of their rigid policies. Are they now heading to do the politics of benefit so that they can get as much assistance as they want from the US and India? If not so, why are they getting so soft? Just to exist?
So now their existence is more important than their ideology?
